“We are coming off a whirlwind year,“ Ted Hough stated as he is driving for the Breathless Performance team in a Mazda 2 in the highly competitive TCB Class.

“It is exactly one year since I started my pro career right here at (Utah Motorsports Park) with Pirelli World Challenge. To come back Utah and be in the hunt for a championship is incredible and a dream come true. It is humbling to have gone from a brand new driver to an established competitor.”

Hough explained, “Breathless Performance has been there for me all the way. The amount of support and expertise available to me every weekend is a massive boon to my development and why I am among the top competitors each and every race. They have provided me with great driver coaching and relaxed yet professional atmosphere.  I can forget about the stress and pressure and just put the visor down and go. I know the team has my back, so now it’s my job to return the favor with race wins and championships.”

On his return to UMC, Hough said, “I am excited to be back at Utah Motorsports Campus, and as the only circuit on the calendar that I have run before. Having been here before gives me a lot of confidence that I can return to the top step of the podium and taken control of my points situation. The circuit suits the Mazda 2 perfectly. The feedback from the car is second to none, and gives me the confidence to attack the technical sections of the track, which more than makes up for any high-speed advantage the other cars might have. Luckily I’m driving a Mazda, and I’m always super grateful for the factory representatives who are always at the races to help me out with whatever I need.”

“World Challenge is a great series and a fantastic platform for new drivers like myself to take the next step in career evolution. They are constantly striving to give the competitors an equal platform to compete. Having missed Lime Rock due to the changes earlier in the season World Challenge is awarding double points for the season finale at Mazda Laguna Seca race-course.” He concluded, “If we can produce good results at Utah Motorsports Campus we can hopefully go into the last race and bring home a championship for Mazda at their home track. It will be an exciting down to the wire excitement and run for the championship!”
