Webster, New York – BERG Racing makes its final journey away from home for Touring Car rounds 11 and 12 of the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge Championships, the Grand Prix of Monterey at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Salinas, Calif.

Following a hectic event at Circuit of the Americas, BERG Racing team owner John Weisberg looks forward to the classic season-ending event in the Monterey hills.

“Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is the home of Mazda Motorsport – so it’s no surprise I’m looking forward to racing on this historic track,” said Weisberg. “Mazda Raceway is well-suited to the MX-5 platform, so I’m expecting a strong showing.”

After two eventful outings for BERG Racing, team driver JT Coupal is equally excited to debut the #009 Bilstein / Micro Precision Components Audi RS 3 LMS TC on track for the October 13 and 14 touring car event.

“It’s wonderful to represent a company with such a motorsport pedigree like Bilstein,” remarked 17-year-old JT Coupal, of Rochester N.Y. “I’m excited to debut the new Bilstein colors on the #009 Audi RS 3 LMS at Mazda Raceway, as well as the world-renowned SEMA show in Las Vegas. We’ll be going for the win Saturday, so we’ll try to place the Bilstein Audi towards the front of the grid.”

Especially relevant this weekend in Monterey is the support of those who have lost homes and loved ones from the wildfires in the surrounding region.

“As with most of the Pirelli World Challenge paddock, BERG Racing will compete with heavy hearts this weekend, thinking of the victims of both the wildfires and the Las Vegas shooting,” said John Weisberg. “There is a large racing community in the Napa area and many BERG Racing friends have been directly affected by the devastating fires. Some of our competitors are deeply affected by the wildfires as well, it’s a very somber time.”

“We are devastated to hear of the ongoing wildfires, and proudly support first responders fighting the fires,” added Dinah Weisberg, President of title partner REDCOM Laboratories. “We’re honored to be a part of a series that hosts first responders at this race, and hope we can provide them with an enjoyable experience and thank them for their sacrifices in helping recovery efforts in times of crisis like this.”

“Our hearts go out to the victims of the recent tragedies in California,” added JT Coupal. “In addition, we’re urging fans to contribute to a fund for the victims of the Las Vegas attack with whatever they can.” https://www.gofundme.com/dr2ks2-las-vegas-victims-fund

Continuing its marketing presence at Mazda Raceway, REDCOM Laboratories, Inc. is delighted to once again be featured on trackside signage.

“We’re happy to finish off an exciting season of Pirelli World Challenge racing at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca,” said Dinah Weisberg. “We always like to have a special presence at the Monterey Grand Prix, and are excited to once again feature REDCOM signage throughout the track, emphasizing the trust placed in our organization regarding secure communications.”
