Webster, NY – After a second consecutive podium-finishing weekend at Road America, BERG Racing looks toward the final two Touring Car rounds at Utah Motorsports Campus and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

First up for the Webster, New York based racing organization are Touring Car rounds nine and ten of the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge Championships at Utah Motorsports Campus in Grantsville, Utah, August 12-14, 2016.

2016-08-11-berg-1Coming off a drama-filled race weekend at the classic Wisconsin venue, BERG Racing team owner John Weisberg reflects on the up and down Road America weekend.

“Our team did a fantastic job preparing our three REDCOM Labs Mazda MX-5’s,” said Weisberg. “From an airborne near miss on Thursday to a last lap, last corner podium finish on Friday, our trio of REDCOM / FUSE Lenses MX-5’s put in a great race!”

Despite the seven-week break, BERG Racing was kept busy between Wisconsin and Utah, with a special BMW and Porsche car club event hosted in early July.

“We hosted the BMW CCA and PCA for a technical demo and book reading,” said Weisberg. “Rob Siegel, ‘The Hack Mechanic’ visited the shop to showcase his new book and offer a technical demonstration to club members. It was a great weekend for all of our guests — we’re proud to have put on a great show for our BMW and Porsche club members.”

After finishing preparations on the three BERG Racing / PHU Concepts Mazdas, Weisberg touches on what should be a successful weekend at Utah Motorsports Campus, a track that has historically been good to the REDCOM MX-5’s.

2016-08-11-berg-2“We’ve enjoyed success in the past at Utah,” said Weisberg. “I finished 3rd last year in one of the races, and had a great result in the other as well. The tight nature of the track seems to always suit our Mazda MX-5’s fairly well, so we’ll see if we can repeat last year’s success!”
