New Milford, CT. – Auto Technic Racing is excited to announce the team move to the Pirelli World Challenge Racing series in 2017, after decades of successful SCCA Club Racing. Competing with the fantastic new BMW M235i Racing is a natural progression for the team as it has decades of experience with BMW E-30, E-36 and E-46 race cars.

Team Principal Rob Driscoll states, “Moving up to Pirelli World Challenge in the TC class is a logical next step for our racing program. Having been one of the most successful US Teams in BMW Improved Touring with multiple drivers earning to spots in the BMW Sports Trophy Program, championships and numerous track records we are confident of success.”

Team driver Robert Nimkoff of Newtown, CT has multiple BMW series championships and track records including 12th in the 2014 BMW Sports Trophy Awards and has competed extensively in endurance racing in the U.S. and overseas. Rob, “Nimmer” to racing colleagues, feels right at home with Auto Technic. “My first connection with Auto Technic in 2008 was the best thing for my racing. They are a very professional team with deep BMW knowledge and I’m stoked to be moving ahead with them to success in PWC.”

The #28 Auto Technic BMW will highlight the logo of WildlifeDirect. WildlifeDirect is a Kenyan based non profit tasked with the mission to protect elephants by ending the trade in elephant tusks. By promoting awareness, education and physical protection of elephant herds WildlifeDirect is on the forefront of this effort.
