GTSport Racing drivers Jack Baldwin and Buz McCall enjoyed two successful races at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI June 26 – 28, 2015.

Jack Baldwin, of Marietta, GA, entered the weekend fresh off of a much needed victory in Mosport. Baldwin came out swinging and scored pole position in his No. 73 GTSport Racing Porsche Cayman S for Race 1 and fought back hard after a slew of issues occurred in the 50-minute sprint race. Baldwin hung on and used his race craft to his advantage to score a second place finish. Baldwin took the grid in ninth position for Race 2. Baldwin put his head down and as the competition faded he began picking cars off one-by-one. Baldwin executed a brilliant last lap pass in Turn 6 to take the checkered flag in third position.

“It was really tough for us this weekend. Under the direction of Steve Ruiz and Bob Sanderson and the entire GTSport Team we had a good car but we just can’t accelerate with the competition making it very difficult to make a pass early in the race. I kept my head down as I knew they would fall off and I hoped that the competition’s performance would decrease enough for our Cayman to have a leg up. My hats off to all the drivers but especially Dean Martin and Mark Wilkins for hard but clean racing.”

GTSport Racing Porsche Cayman S placing himself in the sixteenth spot on the GTS starting grid for Race 1. McCall turned steadily quicker lap times for the duration of the 50-minute sprint race and took the checkered flag in fourteenth position. McCall’s quick lap time put him nineteenth on the starting grid for Race 2 where he was making his way through the field when a mechanical error stuck his gearbox in fourth gear. McCall remained on track for the entirety of the race and McCall’s persistence awarded him another fourteenth place finish.

“The GTS field in 2015 is very competitive. From qualifying to racing the times are closely matched and solid finishes by all. Very few drop outs this year, so this year a 14th place is something to be proud of. I am shooting for a top ten. Looking forward to Mid-Ohio and a second helping of Bratwurst!”
