Sloan Urry Scores a Pair of Podiums at the Legendary Canadian Tire Motorsports Park

Sloan Urry on race two: “We had tricky conditions again today, but the opposite of yesterday. The rain was a bit of a surprise. It seemed like it came out of nowhere right as the race started and there was big wreck on the first green lap. Unfortunately, because of the rain it accentuated a lot of the issues we had with oversteer in the car. The risk versus the reward today for chasing the leaders wasn’t quite there for us. I am not sure we had the pace to put it on the line to get up in front, so I took the podiums and the points that came with them this weekend and we are moving our focus to Lime Rock, where we hope to be able to compete for the top step on the podium. The TruSpeed guys worked extremely hard to get the car better and did in every session, so now we’ll just keep continuing with that trend going into Lime Rock.”

Sloan on the upcoming test this Tuesday at Lime Rock: “I’m looking forward to testing Tuesday, they are short sessions but any testing is really valuable to us right now. We have a list of several changes we will try to see if we can get a handle on some of this oversteer that we are getting in the high speed areas. It will be a great track for us to test on and I am feeling pretty confident we’ll turn it around and be knocking on the door of Alec (Udell) at every race.”

Tyler Tadevic on the weekend: “The SecurityNational Mortgage/Avasis/Porsche and the TruSpeed team had a reasonable weekend here at Mosport. We’re walking out of here with second and third place finishes and a lot of points toward the championship. Sloan did a great job with what we gave him. We struggled a little bit with the car set-up, the car was pretty loose this weekend (oversteer) and here at Mosport, having a loose car is a scary deal. We were able to get some of the push dialed back out of the car and had a little rain there at the start of the second race which sort of accentuated some of the problems we had. At the end of the day, we are really proud of the job Sloan is doing and we are looking forward to testing at Lime Rock on Tuesday.”

Sloan Urry on race one: “The TruSpeed crew worked very hard to improve the car after qualifying and we definitely had some more pace today to take it to the two guys in front of me. Unfortunately, it was a lot hotter during the race than it has been all weekend and we had a lot of extra rubber down after the NASCAR guys ran that we weren’t used to so that threw us a little bit of a curveball in terms of what our expectations were for the behavior of the car. We have a few things to take out of this race as positives and some things to improve for our race for tomorrow. All in all, I am pleased to have a second place finish in the SecurityNational/Avasis Porsche.”
