Following first- second-place finishes with interim co-driver Al Carter at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX, Aurora Straus will partner with Jon Miller in the #36 Richard Mille BMW M4 GT4 for the remainder of the 2018 season. The duo will compete in the GTS SprintX class in Pirelli World Challenge, starting this weekend, April 27th to 29th, at Virginia International Raceway.
The combined talents of Miller and Straus will be a potent combination for the SprintX Championship. Miller brings a depth of experience to the team. After multiple wins in the Skip Barber Formula Series at the start of his driving career, Miller directed his efforts towards sports cars and endurance racing, where he has become a strong and reliable competitor. He has enjoyed past success in Pirelli World Challenge in the TC class, and in multiple other endurance racing settings. Miller is anticipating some hard-earned success with Straus this upcoming season:
“I’m thrilled to be onboard with Aurora and ST Racing for the 2018 season. I was at the track helping out spotting when Aurora landed two podiums and her first win at CotA. I’m looking forward to being on that top step with her next time as we continue pushing for a championship for Aurora, Richard Mille, and BMW. BMW is a brand that I’ve been fortunate to be associated with, and I’m grateful to get an opportunity to be a part of this group. Thanks also to Nick Longhi for putting this together for us.”
Straus is just as anxious as Miller to get behind the wheel. “We are elated to be bringing Jon onto our team. Jon’s resume and driving skill speak for themselves, and he is a perfect fit for our program outside the car as well, which is equally important. As a rookie in the series, I feel secure that having a seasoned driver like Jon behind the wheel bodes well for the rest of 2018. We are currently tied for first place in championship points due to the unparalleled BMW M4 GT4 platform, top level preparation by ST Racing, guidance from my team manager and coach, Nick Longhi, and the support of my partners Richard Mille, ModSpace, OMP, and rag & bone. We also extend a big thank-you to our friend Al Carter for jumping in last-minute and doing such a perfect job at CotA. We are focused on continuing our momentum towards a championship.
