Edinburg, TX – De la Torre Racing Motor is excited to annouce that team owner Jorge de la Torre and his team will be racing an Aston Martin V12 Vantage in the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge Championship in the GTA class.
De la Torre is returning to the Pirelli World Challenge after a successful debut in 2014. This debut found De la Torre behind the wheel of an Aston Martin Vantage V8, taking home Rookie of the Year and coming close to placing in the top ten in the class. De La Torre transitioned to racing a V12 Vantage and is qualified to race in the the GTA class, within the highest ranking categories of drivers at the Pirelli World Challenge Champtionship.
De la Torre is a young and up-and-coming driver who has demonstrated remarkable growth in a very short time span. He launched his career and raced for TRG-AMR in 2014 before successfully starting his own team the following year. He is now managing a team of mechanics and engineers.
De la Torre Racing Motor is excited to prove itself this year. “Our big thing for this year is to be really competitive,” De la Torre says. Moving forward, De la Torre Racing Motor wants to pursue endurance racing. “It’s a big commitment but that’s a step I want to take in 2017-2018,” De la Torre says.
De la Torre Racing Motor will kick off this year’s season in Circuit of the Americas, Austin, Texas on March 3-6.
