Classic BMW of Plano, Texas, one of the country’s top BMW dealers, and its performance parts and service department are proud to announce a two-car program in the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car Class. Racing under the Classic BMW Motorsports banner, the team will be the first team in North America to race the 2016 BMW M235i-Racing in a professional series. Classic BMW Motorsports has great history in both professional and amateur motorsports over the last 15 years, but 2016 will be the first full-season competition in five years. The Pirelli World Challenge season kicks off March 4th, 2016 at Circuit Of The Americas in Austin, TX.

Returning for his 11th year with Classic BMW Motorsports is Toby Grahovec. Grahovec, a two-time SCCA National Champion and a 2015 winner in the Pirelli World Challenge TCA class at Mid Ohio is beyond excited at the program. “I’m thankful for the opportunity and resources that Eric Mass, the owner of Classic BMW, has given us. We had a great test with BMW Team RLL and the BMW engineers from Germany at COTA in February and that set the stage for this program. BMW has built a fantastic race car and they have been incredibly supportive of the program. Chase and Yuki in the shop worked day and night once we got the cars. Their hard work enabled us to do a quick shakedown last weekend. We feel like we should be able to roll off the truck and be in a position to put the M235i-Racing up front.” Toby continues, “The team is better than ever, the car is spectacular, and we are ready to win a championship.”

Driving the second car is World Challenge veteran Gino Carini of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Although new to Classic BMW Motorsports, Carini has competed against and respected the team for years. “I am so incredibly appreciative of the opportunity to be a part of the Classic BMW Motorsports team. The new 2016 BMW M235i-Racing is absolutely amazing and such a well balanced car, I think Toby and I will definitely be a competitive force in TC this year.” Carini continues, “But ,we all know it’s not just car and driver who win races. There are so many factors here that we hope will help lead us to a winning season. First, Classic BMW of Plano for their support. Our amazing crew for their over the top effort and their timeless drive. In addition the fact that I’ve known my teammate, Toby Grahovec, and raced against him for most of my racing career. And lastly I have thank my family and my sponsors, Palermo’s Screaming Sicilian Pizza and Marenzo Construction Group. All who’s support I’ve had from the beginning.”
