Ft. Lauderdale, Florida – Caesar Bacarella and Martin Fuentes are perfect this season in the Pirelli World Challenge Sprint-X GT-Am class and look to continue that trend this weekend as the series visits Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut.
The duo, teaming for the first time this year in PWC have scored four out of for class victories in Sprint-X this season in the No. 07 Garage Italia / Alpha Prime Ferrari 488 GT3, while Fuentes has also won two additional Sprint races to put him into third position in the overall GT-Am championship.
Bacarella, competing in his first full-time season in sports car racing, is eager to race on the short and challenging Lime Rock Park circuit.
“This will be my first time at Lime Rock, which I know is a short but very fast and very demanding track,” said Bacarella. “I look forward to learning the track as quickly as possible and helping Martin and our team get another great result this weekend.”
Fuentes has enjoyed success at Lime Rock Park in the past, scoring a victory and a runner-up finish in the 2016 PWC race weekend at the track in a Ferrari 458 Italia. He also holds the GT-A track record which he set on the same weekend.
“Lime Rock Park may look simple, but it represents a big challenge in the GT3 cars,” said Fuentes. “And you never really get a break so it’s a very physically demanding track, but I know our crew guys will give us a perfectly set up car that will allow Caesar and I the chance to attack and challenge for the victory on Monday.”
The unique Lime Rock race weekend, on the traditional Memorial Day weekend, will see both Sprint-X races race on Monday, May 28. The first race will go green at 11:25 AM ET, with the second starting at 4:05 PM ET. Both races will be streamed live at world-challenge.com
The races will be broadcast on CBS Sports on Sunday, June 3 at 2:00 PM ET.
