Tom O’Gorman returns to the Pirelli World Challenge Championships full-time in 2016, campaigning a new 2015 Honda Fit in Touring Car B-Spec following his successful debut in the series in 2015.

Tom O’Gorman, of Mason, OH, made his series debuts in 2015 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in a 2010 Honda Fit, earning multiple podium and Top-5 finishes. This will be his first full season with the Pirelli World Challenge series, stepping up to the most recent Honda Fit platform with the support of Honda Racing HPD. O’Gorman has partnered with veteran racer David Daughtery, of Fishers, IN, to develop the 2015 Honda Fit platform in both SCCA Pro and Club racing. In addition to O’Gorman’s efforts in World Challenge, Daughtery will campaign the same vehicle in SCCA Majors competition and vie for an SCCA Runoffs title in 2016.
“I’m extremely excited to be working with David, our partners, and Honda Racing HPD on our effort to develop this new platform across multiple series this year. B-Spec offers a unique opportunity to utilize the same ruleset in both Pro and Club racing, and we’re looking to getting on track and showing what this new Honda Fit can do,” says O’Gorman.

O’Gorman made the jump to SCCA Pro Racing with the Pirelli World Challenge in 2015 after progressing through grassroots SCCA competition. He is set to drive the No. 94 SCCA Track Night In America, Autopower Industries, Black Armor Helmets, Honda Racing HPD Honda Fit for the Black Armor Helmets racing team.

“This is a big year for both myself and our partners, particularly SCCA Track Night In America,” said O’Gorman. “Track Night is the fastest way to get you and your street car on a race track, designed to be low-pressure, non-competitive, and safe. We started as a new program from SCCA’s Experiential Programs department last year and have grown immensely in just one year, with over 4200 participants at 18 locations and 90 events nationwide in 2015. I’m looking forward to representing Track Night at Pirelli World Challenge race weekends, and vice versa.” O’Gorman is the KONI Novice Experience Lead Coach for Track Night In America.

“David and I are also excited to have Autopower Industries, manufacturer of performance driving safety equipment, Black Armor Helmets, the best option for affordable carbon fiber helmets, and Carbotech Performance Brakes as technical partners this year.”
