Lakeville, Conn. – Brett Sandberg won the GTS Round 9 pole for the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Lime Rock presented by Bentley. The 15-minute session was held under sunny, 80 degree weather.
Sandberg, in the No. 13 ANSA Motorsports KTM X-Bow GT4, took pole with a lap of 56.062, just .018 seconds ahead of GTS Driver’s Championship points leader Lawson Aschenbach, in the No. 10 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro.
Fifteen-year-old Parker Chase, driving the No. 19 Performance Motorsports Group Ginetta GT4, qualified third with Scott Heckert, in the No. 54 Racers Edge Motorsports SIN R1 GT4, in fourth and Jade Buford, in the No. 45 Racers Edge Motorsports Sin R1 GT4, competing the top five.
For Sandberg, it’s his second pole of the 2016 season, and fifth of his PWC career. Results are provisional until posted final.
