Nolasport, Matt Travis claim Pirelli GT4 America SprintX Pole for Race 1
With wet conditions from overnight rain and a steady drizzle, the first qualifying session for Pirelli GT4 America’s SprintX categories got underway at Circuit of the Americas. NOLASPORT’s Matt Travis gives Porsche’s new 718 Cayman GT4 CS pole position, claiming the VP Racing Lubricants Pole Award with a 2:30.753.
Jarett Andretti and the Andretti Autosport team took 2nd overall and first in the Am category in the #36 McLaren 570S GT4. TRG’s Kevin Woods, who makes his series debut this weekend, posted a 2:32.712 in the #67 Porsche 718 Cayman CS.
2017 TCA Champion and GT4 regular, Matthew Fassnacht will start the Murillo Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4 in fourth with a 2:33.461. With 2018 TC Champion Vesko Kozarov in the Rearden Racing Audi R8 LMS GT4 rounding out the Top 5.
