Lakeville, Conn. – Parker Chase led GTS practice in the Pirelli World Challenge Lime Rock Park Grand Prix presented by Bentley. Weather conditions for the 40-minute session were 79 degrees and partly cloudy.

Opening the session Nate Stacy, driving the No. 14 Roush Performance Road Racing Ford Boss 302, went straight to the top of the practice time sheet with a lap of 57.433. GTS cars are using the chicane on the uphill at Lime Rock Park for the weekend event, the class did not previously use the chicane in their last visit to the circuit in 2013.

Parker Chase, driving the No. 19 Performance Motorsports Group Ginetta GT4, was the first driver into the 56-second range, running a lap of 56.629 early in the session while points leader Lawson Aschenbach, in the No. 10 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro, made his presence known in second place with a lap of 57.281 ahead of Stacy.

Aschenbach then matched Chase’s time exactly, as both had run a 56.629 lap 10 minutes into the session ahead of Jack Roush Jr., driving the No. 60 Roush Performance Ford Boss 302, in third and Stacy in fourth. Fifth belonged to Anthony Mantella, driving the No. 8 Mantella Autosport Inc. Gulf KTM XBow GT4.

Chase then took over position one, shaving four hundredths of a second off quick lap and bringing the mark down to 56.589.

At the half-way, 20-minute mark of the session, Chase’s time held up to be fastest over Aschenbach, but Martin Barkey in the No. 80 Mantella Autosport MBRP Sportlab Sawmill Creative KTM XBow GT4, was now in third ahead of Jade Buford, in the No. 45 Racers Edge Motorsports Sin R1 GT4. Rounding out the top five was Scott Dollahite, in the No. 46 SDR Motorsports Lotus Evora.

When the green flag flew to end the incredibly tight session, Chase topped the charts, with Aschenbach in second and Hugh Plumb, in the No. 12 ANSA Motorsports KTM X-Bow GT4 in third. Buford and Barkey completed the top five. Heckert and Roush Jr. followed in sixth and seventh, respectively. The top 11 cars were separated by just under 1 second.
