TOOELE, Utah – Salt Lake City’s Vesko Kozarov was fastest in the TC, TCA, and TCB practice at Miller Motorsports Park at the Ford Grand Prix presented by VP Racing Fuels. Patrick Seguin of Ottawa, Ont. was fastest in TCA, while Andrei Kisel, from North Vancouver, B.C. was fastest in TCB.
The 30-minute practice session was held under clear, sunny skies and 70 degree F temperatures.
Early on in the session, Corey Fergus, of Columbus, Ohio in the No. 00 Motorsports Promotions USLED/Axis Roofing/AERO/RSS/Motul Porsche Cayman was at the top of the time sheets in the TC class as he posted a time of 2:07.007.
In TCA, it was Championship Points leader Jason Wolfe of Mount Vernon, Ohio in the No. 36 Kinetic Motorsports Wolfe Trucking Kia Forte Koup with the early fast time, turning in a 2:13.146.
The TCB category saw Glenn Nixon of Mission, B.C., driving the No. 58 Racing.ca LaptopScreen.com/ClubRacing.com/Nixon Prosports/HPD Honda Fit lead the time sheets at the 10-minute mark with a quick lap of 2:27.754.
Fergus, who sits on top of the TC points, saw his time quickly eclipsed by Kozarov in the No. 3 Skullcandy Team Nissan Nissan Altima as the local driver set a lap time of 2:06.988, improving down to 2:06.720 and eventually posting a fastest overall time of 2:06.471 to lead the opening practice session.
Twenty-three minutes into the session, it was Patrick Seguin in the No. 39 Team OST Racing helpkevinproject.com Honda Civic Si going to the top of the TCA times and staying there to lead the session with a 2:12.650.
Another Racing.ca driver went fastest in TCB as Andrei Kisel, in the No. 57 Racing.ca/LaptopScreen.com MINI Cooper, posted the best overall time of the TCB class, with a 2:27.411 after his teammate Nixon led the early portion of the 30-minute practice session at Miller. Kisel and Nixon would end the session separated by seven hundredths of a second.
TCB points leader Johan Schwartz, of Huntersville, S.C., in the No. 25 Tech Sport Racing ZERO Cancer Chevrolet Sonic ended the session in fourth.
