Pro/Am Pair of Sofronas/Jaminet Lead SprintX Practice 1

Austin, Texas – James Sofronas (Villa Park, CA) and Mathieu Jaminet (Woippy, France) led the first official practice session of SprintX classes at the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Texas at COTA in the No. 14 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R with a best lap time of two-minutes, 5.886-seconds averaging 98.11 m.p.h.

The No. 3 Cadillac Racing Cadillac ATS-V.R. piloted by Floridians Johnny O’Connell (Orlando) and Ricky Taylor (Apopka) set the second-fastest lap at 2:05.988 (98.03 m.p.h.). Just under one-half second behind the Cadillac was the No. 2 CRP Racing Mercedes AMG GT3 driven to a 2:06.328 (97.76 m.p.h.) fast lap by Daniel Morad (Toronto, Ont., Canada) and Ryan Dalziel (Windermere, Fla.)

Fourth-fastest lap time was set at 2:06.622 (97.54 m.p.h.) by the Syosset, New York’s Michael Cooper and co-driver Ricky Taylor (Orlando, Fla.) in the No. 8 Cadillac Racing Cadillac ATS-V.R. Finishing out the top five fast laps was the No. 75 Always Evolving AIM Autosport Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, driven by Toluca, Mexico’s Ricardo Sanchez and Highlands, N.J.-resident Frank Montecalvo to a circuit time of 2:06.677 at 97.49 m.p.h.
