Baptista, Porsche Paces Friday 2nd GTS Practice, For PWC Grand Prix of Texas at COTA

Young Brazilian Takes Flying Lizard Machine to the Top Spot

AUSTIN, Texas – Young Brazilian racer Rodrigo Baptista posted the quickest time in the Friday’s GTS practice session Friday at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) as part of the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Texas on the 3.247-mile, 20-turn road circuit southeast of Austin

Driving the No. 3 Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR, Baptista recorded a lap time of two minutes, 19.435 seconds (88.57 m.p.h.) to the lead the 23-car GTS field in the 95-degree heat.

Following Baptista Friday afternoon at COTA was local star Scott Dollahite of Austin in his No. 46 SDR Motorsports Lotus Evora with a 2:19.552 (88.50 m.p.h.), 16-year-old Parker Chase of New Braunsfels, Tex., in the No. 19 Performance Motorsports Group Ginetta G55 at 2:19.816 (88.33 m.p.h.), 18-year-old Harry Gottsacker of San Antonio, Tex., in No. 69 Performance Motorsports Group Ginetta G55 and Jason Bell of Tampa, Fla., in the No. 2 Racer’s Edge SIN CAR 1 GT4 at 2:20.172 (88.11 m.p.h.).

Bell is the top runner in the GTS Am division over Bob Michaelian of Seal Beach, Calif., in the No. 45 Racer’s Edge SIN CAR 1 at 2:20.286 (88.04 m.p.h.) and Dakota Dickerson of San Diego, Calif., in the No. 25 ANSA Motorsports KTM X-Bow GT4 at 2:20.462 (87.93 m.p.h.).

Qualifying for the GTS division is set for Saturday at 9:30 a.m. CDT.
