NICK WITTMER LEADS GTS SPRINTX ROUND 1 PRACTICE FRIDAY AT UTAH

GRANTSVILLE, Utah – Veteran Nick Wittmer of Montreal, teaming with young college student Samantha Tan, paced the first practice round of practice Friday for the GTS SprintX class at Utah Motorsports Campus as part of the Pirelli World Challenge grand Prix of Utah.

Driving the No. 38 ST Racing BMW M4 GT4, Wittmer traveled the 3.048-mile, 14-turn outer UMC road circuit in one minute, 59.051 seconds for an average speed of 92.16 miles per hour to lead the 33-car field in the practice for Saturday’s Round 9 60-minute, two-driver event. Second in the speed charts was the team of Henry Schmitt and Greg Liefooghe in the No. 88 Stephen Cameron Racing BMW M4 GT4 at 1:59.151 (92.09 mph) followed by the No. 55 PF Racing Ford Mustang of Scott Maxwell and Jade Buford at 1:59.292 (91.98 mph) and the No. 78 Compass Racing McLaren 570S of Andrew Novich and Paul Holton at 1:59.418 (91.88 mph).

Leading the Am division in Friday’s Practice 1 for GTS SprintX was the No. 113 Classic BMW BMW M4 GT4 of Brett Strom and Daren Jorgensen at 1:59.487 (91.83 mph).

The next GTS SprintX practice session is set for 2:50 p.m. MDT at UMC.
