Eversley Leads TCR Practice Times Friday at Lime Rock Park; Powell Tops TCA Action in Practice with his Subaru
LAKEVILLE, Conn. – Current TCR class point leader Ryan Eversley of Atlanta, Ga., posted the top time Friday in TCR practice rounds Friday in the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Lime Rock powered by M.
Driving the No. 43 RealTime Racing Honda Civic Type-R sedan, Eversley recorded a best lap of 54.201 seconds for an average speed of 97.90 miles per hour in the second TCR practice to lead the 13-car field at the historic 1.5-mile, seven-turn road circuit in northwest Connecticut.
Eversley, the TCR Round 3 race winner at VIR, leads the Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb/Agajanian Hyundai i30 N pair of Michael Lewis of Laguna Beach., Calif., and Mark Wilkins of Mulmur, Ont., Canada in the first two TCR practices. Lewis, in the No. 98 BHA Hyundai i30 N TCR, clocked in with 54.522 seconds at 97.32 m.p.h., while Wilkins, in the No. 99 BHA Hyundai i30 N TCR, had a 54.982 second run at 96.51 m.p.h.
Rounding out the top-five in Friday TCR practice was Michael Hurczyn in the No. 71 FCP Euro by HRP Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR at 55.035 seconds (96.41 m.p.h.) and Adam Merzon in the RealTime Racing Honda Civic Type-R TCR at 55.366 (95.84 m.p.h.)
Qualifying for TCR is set for Friday at 4:00 p.m. EDT at Lime Rock Park.
In the TCA division, current point leader Eric Powell also of Atlanta topped the 11-car field in practice Friday at Lime Rock Park with his No. 95 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ tS at 59.422 (89.30 m.p.h.) in the first TCA morning session.
Second overall in TCA practice was Kenny Murillo of Santa Rosa, Calif., in the No. 24 Murillo Racing Mazda Global MX5 Cup at 59. 675 seconds (88.92 m.p.h.). followed by Tom O’Gorman of Mason, Ohio, in the No. 94 TOMO Racing Honda Civic Si at 59.845 seconds (88.66 m.p.h.)
TCA competitors will start their Qualifying session at 3:40pm EDT at the fame Lime Rock Park.
