Braun Leads GTS SprintX Saturday Practice in Audi at Lime Rock Park

LAKEVILLE, Conn. – Endurance veteran racer Colin Braun of Harrisburg, N.C., topped the GTS SprintX practice round Saturday at Lime Rock Park with No. 04 Crowdstrike/GMG Racing Audi R8 LMS in the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Lime Rock powered by M.

Braun, teaming with 2017 GTSA champion George Kurtz, recorded a best lap of 55.032 seconds for an average speed of 96.42 miles per hour at the famed 1.5-mile, seven-turn road circuit in northeast Connecticut.

Canadian Kyle Marcelli was second quickest in the No. 13 Pfaff Motorsports Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR at 55.161 seconds (96.19 m.p.h.) followed by Pro/Am racer Justin Raphael in the No. 17 Raphael & Associates/Classic BMW BMW M4 GT4 at 55.236 (96.06 m.p.h.), Am driver Nicolai Elghanayan in the No. 71 Marco Pole Motorsports KTM X-Bow at 55.286 (95.98 m.p.h.) and Moritz in the No. 21 Muehiner Motorsports America Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR at 55.330 (95.90 m.p.h.).

Third in the Am division Saturday morning was three-time race winner Drew Staveley in the No. 12 Ian Lacy Racing Ginetta GT55 at 55.484 (95.63 m.p.h.) followed by Toby Grahovec in the No. 92 ETF Global/Classic BMW BMW M4 GT4 at 55.524 (95.56 m.p.h.).

Qualifying for GTS SprintX is schedule for Saturday 2:25 p.m. EDT at Lime Rock Park.
