ELKHART LAKE, Wis. — Ernie Francis Jr., of Davie, Fla., was fastest in Friday morning’s 30-minute TC/TCA/TCB practice session at the DeVilbiss Grand Prix at Road America presented by Cadillac. Tony Rivera, of Vista, Calif., was fastest in TCA, while Glenn Nixon, of Mission, B.C. was fastest in TCB.
Early on TC Drivers’ Championship points leader Corey Fergus, of Columbus, Ohio, in the 00 USLED/Axis Roofing/AERO/RSS/Motul Motorsports Promotions Porsche Cayman set the early pace with a 2:28.322, while Rivera in the No. 86 Tiburon Motorsports Brass Monkey Racing Scion FR-S set a 2:36.715 for fastest in TCA. Andrei Kisel, of North Vancouver, B.C. set the fastest time in TCB in his No. 57 Racing.ca/LaptopScreen.com Racing.ca MINI Cooper with a 2:57.470.
At the 13-minute mark Kisel’s teammate Nixon, in the No. 58 LaptopScreen.com/ClubRacing.com/Nixon Prosports/HPD Racing.ca Honda Fit went faster with a 2:57.216. Rivera would then set new fast laps with a 2:35.083 and a 2:34.790.
At the 19-minute mark, Francis Jr. posted a 2:27.681 to eclipse Fergus’ mark. Nixon also went faster posting a 2:56.052.
