Austin, TX. — Drivers in the Pirelli World Challenge TC/TCA/TCB classes were the first group to complete a qualifying session at the Circuit of The Americas Nissan Grand Prix of Texas brought to you by Motul race weekend.

In TC, the top three qualifiers posted times that fell within a collective differential of .4 seconds. Posting fast time on the 3.4 mile circuit in TC was Cody Ellsworth, of Jupiter FL., driving the No. 04 Mac Papers/Hastings Fiberglass, Autometrics Motorsports, Porsche Cayman with a time of 2:25.997. Right behind Ellsworth was the No. 98 driven by Ernie Francis Jr. from Davie, Fl. in his Breathless Racing/Time4Learning Mazda MX5 with a 2:26.015. Third fastest was Corey Fergus, from Columbus OH. in the No. 00 USLED/Axis Roofing/AERO/RSS/Motul, Motorsports Promotions Porsche Cayman with a 2:26.395.

Topping qualifier in TCA was Robby Foley of Randolph, NJ with a 2:32.070 driving the No. 23, Techsport Racing Mazda RX8. Posting the second fastest time in class was Tony Rivera from Vista, CA. in the No. 86 Eurotech, Brass Monkey Racing Scion FR-S with a 2:32.926. Third quickest was Paul Holton, of Tallahassee, FL, in the No. 71 Children’s Tumor Foundation/Honda Performance Development/ Compass360 Racing Honda Civic Si with a fast time of 2:33.418.

In TCB, Johan Schwartz, of Huntersville, NC, set fast time in the No. 25 ZEROcancer, CASgroup and CustomDieCasts Racing Chevy Sonic with a time of 2:49.093. Second quickest was Glenn Nixon of Mission, BC in his No.58, Prosports/ MINI Cooper with a 2:50.149. Rounding out the TCB top three was Hyde Park, NY’s Van Svenson’s driving the No. 2 Hack Racing Chevy Sonic with his best time of 2:51.147.
