Following an announcement that Brett Sandberg will drive the No. 13 ANSA Motorsports REITER Engineering KTM X-Bow GT4 all season in the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge GTS Championship, team owner, Alain Nadal, has selected Dore Alexander Chaponick Jr. as Sandberg’s teammate in 2016.

Chaponick will drive the No. 12 ANSA Motorsports REITER Engineering KTM X-Bow GT4.

Chaponick, age 19, began karting at the young age of eight and has been behind the wheel ever since. In 2010, he claimed the Pan Am Rotax Junior vice-championship, and a berth on Team USA and a trip to Italy for the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. Chaponick started his professional racing career with ANSA Motorsports last year and competed in four rounds of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA.

“I am thrilled and delighted to be a part of the 2016 Pirelli World Challenge,” Chaponick said. “I want to express my excitement and appreciation to ANSA Motorsports and my gratitude to Alain Nadal for trusting me and making me part of his team. This new KTM racing program is a whole new challenge that awaits me! Racing has always been a huge part of my life. I am proud to be a part of ANSA Motorsports. I tested the KTM last week at Circuit of the Americas and I am ready for this new, exciting challenge.”

Chaponick knows the REITER Engineering KTM X-Bow GT4 well. He has been racing the car since October in different South Florida races. He is part of the duo of drivers who brought the first win for KTM in North America. Chaponick, with co-driver Patrick Dussault, won the four-hour Miami 500 enduro classic.

“I am really pleased that Dore Chaponick is going to be with us all season,” Nadal said. “Our team likes working with young drivers and bringing fresh faces to the sport and the Pirelli World Challenge. We gave Chaponick his first professional’s chance last year, and he did such a great job. Now he is 19 and more mature, and he understands that it is going to be a learning season, but with Brett Sandberg, he is going to have a great teammate to learn the ropes of the pro-racing driver’s job.”

Chaponick and Sandberg will participate in the promoter test day at Circuit of the Americas Thursday, March 3.
