“Corey Fergus not only subscribes to the theory of “race on Sunday, sell on Monday,” he lives it.
“That’s it, exactly,” said Fergus, 27, who is racing a Porsche 911 in the Pirelli World Challenge Porsche GT Cup series this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and will be back on the job trying to sell them at Byers Imports as a “Porsche brand specialist” on Monday morning. “I worked 33 hours in three days before my race weekend started.
“It’s nonstop. Work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday; race Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Go back to work Monday. But I love it.”
He’s making a buck and pursuing his passion. Those were two major traits passed down from his father, John Fergus, who in the 1980s and ‘90s won amateur and professional championships as a “ part-time” racer while growing his Lewis Center-based The Fergus Companies.”
