Owasso, OK — Nate Stacy announced today that he will be racing with Roush Performance Road Racing for 2016. The team will be managed by driver Dean Martin’s KohR Motorsports and will have Jack Roush Jr, Martin and Stacy return to The Pirelli World Challenge in their Mustangs.
“Nate has shown great talent in the 2015 season. I had the chance to see Nate race as a competitor in the GTS class, and then as a teammate for the final race at Laguna Seca. He has shown both speed and maturity on the track beyond his age. Similarly, I’ve been both a teammate and competitor with Dean Martin for years, and have great respect for him and his whole team. I look forward to being a part of the team once as we go for the 2016 championship. – Jack Roush Jr.
“I’m very excited and thankful to be given this opportunity to drive under the Roush name” said 16 year old Stacy of Owasso OK, “Racing against Jack Roush Jr at Road America and then alongside him at Laguna Seca last year with Rehagen was a thrill. Being added to the team roster is a great way to start a new year!”
After starting last season in the Touring Car class of the Pirelli World Challenge, Stacy made the jump to Grand Touring Sport after a successful test with Rehagen Racing in a GTS Mustang at Barber Motorsports Park. He went on to finish sixteenth in the class while competing in just 11 of the 17 races during 2015.
“We’re excited to have Nate in GTS again for 2016” said Dean Martin, driver and owner of KohR Motorsports. “It will be great to have him in the car for the full season vying for the Driver’s Championship. He did a great job last year and got up to speed quickly. He finished the year very strong and we expect that he will pick up right where he left off.”
With 36 days until the start of the season Stacy is working on reviewing video and data from last season and conditioning in preparation for what promises to be an exciting season.
“Last season was a development year for Nate, running half a season in a GTS prepped him for this next big step. We are so excited to be a part of Roush Performance Road Racing with KohR Motorsports and look forward to another season of door to door racing in Pirelli World Challenge” said father Mike Stacy, “I couldn’t be more proud of him and am thankful for the opportunity, coaching and encouragement he received from Dean Martin and the Rehagen Team last year.”
The Pirelli World Challenge series begins March 3 to 6 at The Circuit of the Americas in Austin Texas. For other race dates go to www.world-challenge.com or follow Nate Stacy Racing on Facebook and Twitter.
