Brett Sandberg will be filling in for Phil Fogg Jr. in the 18 Zoro Racing Porsche at Road America. Fogg, who usually pilots the No. 18 machine and scored a breakthrough GT Cup presented by MOMO class victory at St. Petersburg for Zoro, will miss the event to partake in a charity event for an organization close to his heart.
Sandberg, a New Jersey native, previously raced for TruSpeed Autosport in the IMSA GT3 Challenge by Yokohama in 2013. The pairing picked up four podium finishes en route to fourth place in the championship. Sandberg also competed in Pirelli World Challenge in 2013, finishing second in the TC class championship with four wins.
“I raced for TruSpeed in 2013 and through that, I met Phil Fogg and we raced as teammates together for a part of that season,” said Sandberg. “I have a very good relationship with both Phil and Tyler (Tadevic, Team Owner) of Truspeed. Over the past few months I got to race at Laguna Seca, and then did three races at the Nurburgring including the 24 Hour. Now I get to race at Road America, which is one of my favorite tracks in in North America. It is awesome that this is Zoro’s home track and I am keen to make a good impression on them and give the best result possible for the brand.”
Zoro Racing and Sandberg hope to continue their success together this weekend at Road America.
