Fast Facts:

A New Ride: Jon Fogarty will debut a new Porsche 911 GT3 R this weekend. Just five races into the season with a new car, the No. 99 Porsche was destroyed in an early race incident at Road America last month. The team quickly sourced a new car at Alex Job Racing in Florida, rebuilt it in Texas and within a week tested at Utah Motorsports Campus. This weekend will mark the team’s competitive debut of the new car. They are hoping to pick up right where they left off, after qualifying third for race one at Road America.

Testing Complete: The GAINSCO gang wrapped their rigorous test schedule with drivers Jon Fogarty and his SprintX teammate Wolf Henzler last week at Circuit of The Americas. Although the accident forced the team to miss their scheduled test at Mid-Ohio immediately following the Road America event, they’ve made great strides learning and developing the Porsche 911 GT3 R with over 15 days of testing through the year.

Circle of Champions: GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing congratulates and welcomes four special team members at Mid-Ohio: GAINSCO Auto Insurance’s “Circle of Champions” Heidi Beckham, Daryl Brown, Sandie Buruato, and Justin Robinson won the trip for their outstanding performance in exemplifying the core values of GAINSCO Auto Insurance.

Bob Stallings, Team Owner: “I’m very happy to get back to racing at Mid-O this weekend. It is a terrific track and has been very good to all of us on the GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Team. I won the SCCA Run-Offs in 2004 in my Atlantic Car and Jon Fogarty has done more than his share of winning and qualifying on the pole at the track over the years. We had a good run here last year in a different race car and we are expecting good things in the Porsche Red Dragon™ this year as well. The entire team has been working hard, testing the new car and recently put together a new car after our unfortunate and expensive mishap at Road America. Our Engineer, John Ward, Terry Wilbert, the manager of our team and Jon Fogarty are ready to get after it and so are the rest of the GAINSCO guys!”

Jon Fogarty on Mid-Ohio: “A huge thanks goes out to Bob and Linda (Stallings) and all of the GAINSCO crew. They worked their tails off to source and purchase a great car for us in a matter of hours after the accident at Road America, and then get it re-built through the Fourth of July holiday to get us back on track in time for our important test at Utah. Then it was a big job again last week to get turned around after out test at COTA and on the road for Mid-O. We’ve had an abbreviated season doing just the Sprint races, but the GAINSCO guys have worked as hard as anyone. Mid-Ohio was where our season jumped into a more competitive gear last season. We qualified well and raced well and I’d expect the same this weekend. It’s been a very good track for me in the past and I am hoping to pick up where we left off with the last car at Road America. We were quick.”
